Baseball vs. Softball

Last night I went to watch a little league baseball game. It was fun. I was there to watch a teenager in my youth group play, his name is Caleb. He did well. He got one hit, and then he pitched and struck out his first batter. I left right after he struck out his first hitter.
I like watching little league baseball. You can tell they are all trying to act like the players in the big leagues. I could have swore I even saw one 13 year old chewing tobacco. And before the game I saw another little leaguer with a needle about to inject HGH (steroids) into his blood stream.
It's a calming game to watch. It's nice to just sit back, relax and watch a little ball. Watching baseball is relaxing. Now softball on the other hand...

It's much different. And I'm not talking about how it's mostly girls playing, and how they pitch underhand and the field is smaller. I'm fine with all of that. Those are not big differences. But the energy is totally different. There's a lot more chatter. They have all these chants that rhyme. And some of them were insulting to the other team. I will call this "poetic trash talk." And I loved it. Here is one that is popular (I am inserting team names to make it easier to read):

The Pink Flowers are Running Up the Hill
The Pink Flowers running up the hill,
Acting like they're gonna kill.
But when they see the Care Bears come,
They turn around and start to run.
To the left, to the left,
To the left, to the right.
To the left, to the left,
To the left, to the right.
Left to the right,Right to the left,
Stand up sit down,
fight, fight, fight!

I like that. Poetic trash talking. You see, the Pink Flowers think they are going to kill, but when they see the Care Bears coming, they turn into a panic and start running all over the place, because those Care Bears are scared and intimidated. They are scared because the Pink Flowers are ready to fight, fight, fight! That pumps me up. Here is another one. It is about a cemetary:

Welcome To the Cemetary
Welcome to the cemetary!(stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp)
This is where you will be buried.(stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp)
If you think you're gonna win,(stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp)
Turn around and think again.(stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp)

Who new softball was so violent?! I would never want to play against this team. I think I would start crying if I saw a bunch of 12 year old girls yelling that at me. I don't want to go to the cemetary to be buried, I'm only 29! Sounds like a nightmare to me. They should make a scary movie about girls softball. It would be called, "The Field." I would definately go watch that one.

The energy of softball games is exciting, but I think I will stick with the relaxation of our national past time...

lol. you're crazy. But very right. The Field would be a hella freaky movie. Just pulled a Daniel Perez. Except I prolly shouldn't say that cuz i feel like i'm cussing. Is that a bad word? I can't decide. Better just steer clear of it just in case...and the 12 year old screaming girls. goodbye,
